Expedition Manager
Position Overview:
As the Photo Shoot Expedition Manager for SHAMAYIM Studios, working closely with renowned fashion photographer Shamayim, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing on-location and destination photoshoots. This role combines creative vision, logistical expertise, and project management skills to ensure that each photoshoot is a memorable and successful experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conceptualization and Planning:
- Collaborate with Shamayim to conceptualize the vision and creative direction for destination photoshoots.
- Plan and develop detailed expedition itineraries, including locations, shot lists, and logistics.
2. Logistics and Travel:
- Coordinate all travel arrangements, including flights, accommodations, transportation, and permits for on-location and destination shoots.
- Ensure that all team members have the necessary travel documents and equipment.
3. Location Scouting:
- Conduct thorough location scouting to discover unique and suitable settings that align with the creative concept.
- Secure permissions and permits for shooting at chosen locations.
4. Team Coordination:
- Assemble and manage a team of photographers, models, makeup artists, stylists, and support staff for each expedition.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration among team members.
5. Equipment Management:
- Ensure that all photography equipment, lighting, and accessories are carefully packed, transported, and set up at the destination.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and readiness throughout the shoot.
6. Safety and Risk Management:
- Implement safety protocols to protect the team and equipment during challenging conditions or remote locations.
- Develop contingency plans for unexpected challenges, such as weather changes or logistical issues.
7. Budget Oversight:
- Develop and manage budgets for each expedition, tracking expenses and ensuring they remain within budgetary constraints.
- Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to secure cost-effective resources.
8. Client and Guest Experience:
- Ensure that clients and guests accompanying the expedition have a seamless and enjoyable experience.
- Oversee catering, accommodations, and any additional amenities to enhance their comfort.
9. Documentation and Reporting:
- Keep detailed records of all expedition-related activities, expenses, and timelines.
- Provide post-expedition reports, including a summary of the shoot's success and any lessons learned.
